Wells-Burr knock sees Chard to gutsy win

In Somerset Division, Chard moved up into the top half of the Somerset table with a convincing 88 run win at promotion-chasing Bridgwater. For the visitors, it wasn’t all plain sailing who after winning the toss and opting to bat first, slumped 43 for 5.

Coming in at number 8, Scott Wells-Burr struck a belligerent unbeaten 70 off just 49 balls which included 7 maximums, guided the middle order well with useful supporting knocks from Alex Hunt and Chris Scott which enabled Chard to close on 189 as they were dismissed off the penultimate ball of the innings. Bridgwater nurdled their way to 36 for 1 before Wells-Burr  and Jon Dalwood tore out the heart of the innings and the hosts were shot out for 101 I the 35th over. Chard 189 got 20pts beat Bridgwater 101 on 17pts by 88 runs.

North Perrott remain rotted to the foot of the table after being well beaten at Wellington. Skipper of Perrott Gordon Whorlow invited the Wellies to bat first and was rewarded by fine spells from Alex Eckland and Josh Marshall James as the innings closed on 187 in the 44th over. But, Perrott reply saw 4 players dismissed without troubling the scorers and Craig Jones top-scoring with just 22 as they were blown away for 85 in the 26th over.

    • dude if sega gave us Sonic Aduetnvre 3 with chao gardens, i dont care if they never made a sonic game after that. but then i guess if sega made a sonic adventure 3, people would be saying “i want adventure 4!”

  2. That was great. I have nothing to do with education, but that exchange is a carbon copy template for middle management buffoonery. I wish I could video tape some of our exchanges at work. The public really should see. It’s nothing short of lunacy. Thiks country is in serious troleub.Anyway, thanks for sharing.
