In the top division of the Best Western Shrubbery Hotel Somerset League, early leaders Taunton CS Radiac and Outcasts travelled to take on newly promoted Watchet at the Memorial Ground where they notched up their second win of the campaign.
Outcasts won the toss and after putting Watchet into bat first bowled their hosts out for 116 in 37 overs. Ed Martin with 28 top scored for the hosts, with Martyn Ketchen making 25. For the Outcasts Ian Hosken took four for 34. After a delay between the innings because of the rain, Outcasts were left with 33 overs to reach their target and looked well off the pace at 48 for five. However, Mike Warren with 47 and a quick fire 40 not out from captain Andrew Mason saw Outcasts home in the 27th over. The pick of the Watchet bowlers was Liam Woolgrove who ended up with three for 42. |
