Watchet 2nd XI v Taunton Deane "A"

Played at Wellington on Saturday 13th August 2005

Watchet 2nd XI went to Wellington and came away with a hard earned rain affected draw.

The home side scored 183 all out with Grant top-scoring with an impressive 93 and looking certain to reach a deserved century until David Milton (right) claimed his wicket.

Young Dominic Bowden bowled well to return his best figures of 3 for 19 from eight overs, but it was the side's most senior player, Milton, who took the honours with his first five wicket haul for the club, returning 5-22 from seven overs.

In reply, Watchet never looked like getting anywhere near their target, but a determined fifth wicket stand between Chris Wookey right (31no) and Callum Knight (20) saw them past three figures and a draw as poor light stopped play in the 37th over.

Wellington: 183 (K. Grant 93, D. Milton 5-22, D. Bowden 3-19).

Watchet 2nd XI: 106-5 (C. Wookey 31no. C. Knight 20, K. Syman 2-33).
