Somerset Cricket League Team Of The Month for July is Ilton 1st XI

Watchet 1st XI v Tintinhull 1st XI

Watchet comfortably won a rain-affected match at home to Tintinhull by seven wickets to claim maximum points.

Batting first the visitors struggled Phil Sylvester and Matt Lovell, and when Sylvester was taken out of the attack after conceding just ten runs from 5 overs, Norman Yaw (left) came on to claim a wicket in his first over, going on to bag 3 for 25.

Sam Millard top-scored with 43 before Andy Pyne picked up a smart catch off of the bowling of Ryan Strong, and the visitors were all out for 107.

With 32 overs to reach their target, Watchet rearranged their batting order and promoted Clive Strong (right) to open. Strong completed his fourth half-century of the season in only 14 overs before being bowled for 54.

Philip Milton and Matt Lovell the saw the home side to victory in the 23rd over.

Tintinhull: 108 (J. Millward 43, C. Spurway 20, N. Yaw 3-25, P. Sylvester 2-10, M. Lovell 2-20).

Watchet: 111-3 (C. Strong 54, P. Milton 23no).
