Watchet 1st XI v South Petherton 1st XI At the top of Division Three, just six points separated the top three sides before yesterday's matches and in the game between the second and third teams, unbeaten Watchet and South Petherton it was the visitors that won the toss and batted first. After they had slumped to 24 for 3 their skipper, K Harris must have wondered if he had made the right decission. However he then righted the situation and going to the wicket with the score on 65 for 5, Harris remained at the wicket until he was out in the final over when he was bowled by teenage paceman Jason Strong for 72, by which time he had helped to take the total on to 200 for 8. On his was the Petherton skipper shared in a partnership of 47 with big hitting White who was eventually out for 16 caught by the wicket-keeper. By the time the visitors had batted through their overs they had reached 203-8, with Matt Lovell being the pick of the Watchet bowlers, ending with with 3 for 56 from his 12 overs and Jason Strong with 2 for 43.
When the hosts batted they were bowled out for
181in the 43rd over, thanks to "man of the match" K Harris who took 5 For the hosts Philip Milton top scored with 34 and Norman Yaw, pictured right, made 32.
