Watchet 1st XI v Burnham-on-Sea 17th June 2006

 

Burnham-on-Sea fielded first in this battle of the sea-siders and allowed Watchet to score 243 for 9 in their 45 overs.

 

Clive Strong, pictured right, top-scored with 75 and was well supported by Chris Sully, pictured left, who scored 66.

 

A. Smith took 3 for 42 and Brian Brogden 3 for 49 for Burnham.

 

In reply, Burnham were dismissed for 154. Nyam Karmaker contributed 71, whilst the wickets were shared amongst the Watchet bowlers.

Belvedere v Brent Knoll

Two centuries were scored in this match, one for each side. In the end Belvedere came out on top. Batting first Belvedere scored 295 for 4 with Gary Gullick scoring an unbeaten 128 and Ian Tasker with scoring 86 not out.

 

Despite 122 from Koetzer the visitors could only reach 230 leaving their opponents victorious by 65 runs.

 

Hardington and West Coker v Fitzhead

Fizhead came away with a victory thanks to an unbroken eighth wicket partnership of 36 between Ian Oliver (38) and Luke Thomas (15), who saw their side home with just 8 balls to spare.

 

Hardington & West Coker scored 192 for 8 from their overs. Paul Clemence scored 48 and Chris Hide 41. For Fitzhead Hendy took 4 for 33 and Thomas 2 for 27.

 

Fitzhead replied with 195 for 8. Ian Oliver scored 38 and Hendy 29 before the eighth wicket pair came together.
