Tintinhull 1st XI v Watchet 1st XI Watchet visited Tintinhull on Saturday and found conditions far from perfect with a poor looking wicket and long grass in the outfield, but they were too good for the home side and won by 109 runs. Watchet batted first and once again opener Chris Sully worked hard, pushing for singles and sensibly lifting the ball over the inner fielders for twos. He found good support from Philip Milton and then Matt Lovell, who was unfortunate to be run out for 24. Tintinhull's leg spinner Chris Spurway captured the important wicket of Sully was just three runs short of his first half century for the 1st XL. Spurway finished with 4 for 26 and helped reduce Watchet to 100-6, but a last wicket flourish from Phil Sylvester and Andrew Pyne saw the pair put on 28 runs and take Watchet to a respectable 155. After tea the home side crumbled under the seam attack of Phil Sylvester, Jason Strong and Liam Woolgrove. Spinner Andrew Pyne picked up two late wickets. Neil Davis was the only home batsman to reach double figures and when Adam Bishop claimed Tintinhull's last wicket in the 25th over there were only 46 runs on the board. Phil Sylvester finished with 3-5. Watchet: 155 (C. Sully 47, M. Lovell 24, P. Milton 18, C. Spurway 4-26) Tintinhull: 46 (N. Davis 18, P. Sylvester 3-5, L. Woolgrove 2-1, J. Strong 2-12, A. Pyne 2-13) Points: Tintinhull 12 Watchet 32
