Minehead Kwik Cricket Tournament 2005

On Sunday 19th June 2005 Minehead Cricket Club staged a kwik cricket tournament for the stars of tomorrow.

Watchet put in a squad of 7 players to take part in this 6 six-a-side cricket. They were represented by Ryan Jones, Bethany Thompson, Liam Webber, Connor Williams, Harry Duncan, Harriet Coleman and Jessica Martin.

The other teams taking part on a scorching hot day were Minehead A, Minehead B, Dulverton A and Dulverton B.

Our side lost the first match by sixteen runs against Minehead A, then tied with Minehead B and beat both of the Dulverton teams.

The girls performed well for Watchet including hitting a couple of sixes and Connor Williams held an exceptional catch in the deep. All our squad put in superb performances especially in the extreme heat.
