Banwell & Churchill v Watchet 1st X

Watchet's young guns kept their promotion hopes alive with an impressive eight wicket away win at Banwell.

The hosts batted first and struggled against the accurate bowling of Matt Lovell and Phillip Sylvester, the latter again only conceding two runs an over, taking 2 for 18 from nine overs. Lovell bowled his maximum of 12 overs claiming 1 for 28,

The middle order then collapsed to the middle order seam bowling of Liam Woolgrove as he took a wicket in each of his first three overs, finishing with 3 for 19.

Banwell's tail enders put on some quick runs as Watchet failed to bowl out yet another side who were on the ropes for 45 overs, their innings finishing on 165 for 8.

Watchet's reply got off to a flying start as Adam Bishop and Chris Sully put on 66 runs for the first wicket in only sixteen over before Bishop was well caught for 34.

Philip Milton showed how to be patient and make certain of a half century when the opportunity arrives as he made sure of a hat-trick of 50's, guiding his side home with eight wickets to spare.
