Wembdon Academy XI V Watchet 2nd XI Sunday saw a dramatic improvement in the weather saw Watchet travel to Wembdon to play their Academy X1. Winning the toss, the visitors elected to bat on what looked to be a flat track. All the Watchet top order made double figures but with only Pete Manley with 23 including two sixes and Gary Trunks playing only his second game in 4 years with 43 not out, the score trundled along with no momentum. It was not until the 41 st over when Andy Pyne joined Trunks that any real impetus was added and Watchet ended their 45 overs with 204 for 8. In reply, Wembdon never looked like threatening Watchet's total, and were reduced to 39 for 6 in 13 overs with Trunks picking up 4 wickets. The lower order batsmen made a fist of things until Arran Nunn was introduced and picked up two wickets with consecutive deliveries. Maddocks finished the innings the following ball to give Watchet maximum points and take them to the summit of the table. Watchet 2nd XI
